Deviation Actions
I have a theory that Chito and Yuuri are children from opposite sides of whatever final conflict it was that decimated humankind. Think about it, their uniforms are different, their helmets are of different make, they look completely unlike one another. I think their parents must have been enemies, and I don’t think they know, maybe they never find out.
The thing I really love about this theory is that, ultimately, it doesn’t really matter at all. Not when all is said and done. They’re still Chito and Yuuri, they’re still friends, and whatever animosity that drove their people to destroy themselves, they’re free of it. Yeah, there’s no happy ending in a story like this, but I think there’s something sadly beautiful about their whole situation, about how they meet the inevitable.
Poor kids. I want to give them a hug.
